Diagnosis

Risk for skin damage related to basal cell carcinoma.

Goals

Patient will remain free from complications as evidenced by successful removal of the carcinoma and normal skin healing. Patient will verbalize understanding of the importance of skin protection and regular dermatologic check-ups.

Interventions

Prepare patient for surgical excision of the carcinoma. Educate patient on the importance of sun protection, including the use of sunscreen and protective clothing. Encourage regular skin self-examinations and prompt reporting of any new or changing lesions. Schedule follow-up appointments with a dermatologist for ongoing monitoring.

Rationale

These interventions aim to treat the carcinoma, prevent recurrence, and educate the patient on skin protection and monitoring.

Evaluation
