Patient presents with abnormal vaginal bleeding and elevated hCG levels.
Diagnosis
Risk for impaired reproductive function related to malignant trophoblastic disease.
Goals
Patient will remain free from complications as evidenced by successful treatment of the cancer and absence of metastasis. Patient will verbalize understanding of the importance of regular monitoring and follow-up appointments.
Interventions
Administer prescribed chemotherapy and monitor for side effects. Educate patient on the importance of regular monitoring of hCG levels to assess treatment response. Prepare patient for potential surgical interventions such as dilation and curettage (D&C). Encourage regular follow-up appointments with a gynecologic oncologist.
Rationale
These interventions aim to manage symptoms, prevent complications, and ensure the patient is well-informed about their condition.
Evaluation
Patient's reproductive function and symptomatology will be monitored to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
