Diagnosis
Risk for infection related to osteomyelitis.
Goals
Patient will remain free from infection as evidenced by normal temperature and absence of signs of systemic infection. Patient will adhere to the prescribed antibiotic regimen.
Interventions
Administer prescribed antibiotics and monitor for effectiveness and side effects. Educate patient on the importance of completing the full course of antibiotics. Monitor the affected area for signs of improvement or worsening, such as decreased swelling and pain. Encourage rest and immobilization of the affected limb as needed.
Rationale
These interventions aim to eradicate the infection and prevent complications related to osteomyelitis.
Evaluation
Patient’s infection status and adherence to the antibiotic regimen will be monitored during follow-up visits.
