Interventions
Educate patient on the importance of receiving recommended vaccinations such as pneumococcal, meningococcal, and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib). Encourage patient to practice good hand hygiene and avoid contact with individuals who are sick. Monitor for signs of infection and educate patient on the importance of seeking immediate medical attention if symptoms occur. Provide resources for support groups and counseling as needed.
